Tips to keep your fresh fish
Keep refrigerated at all times. In our experience, placing the fish in a metal tray (i.e. baking tray) covered in the fridge helps to keep the fish cooler. In order to keep your fish fresher and longer do make sure sure to pour off any excess water each day.
You should eat within 3 days or freeze immediately. The recommended frozen shelf life for fish and shellfish in a domestic freezer is:
| Oily fish (herring, salmon, etc): | 4 months |
| White fish, (cod, haddock, etc): | 8 months |
| Flat fish, (sole, plaice, etc): | 10 months |
| Prawns, lobster, crab: | 6 months |
| Clams, oysters: | 4 months |
Having your fish delivery available weekly would enable to always have your fish fresh.
